Calls and Competitions: NIHR Research Design Services

We invite proposals to provide NIHR Research Design Services in the following Strategic Health Authority regions: North West and East Midlands.

The aim is to provide consistent support to the health and social care research community nationally. Eight other RDS contracts have already been let.

The new Research Design Service (RDS) services in these SHA areas will replace the current Research and Development Support Units which are currently contracted to continue in these regions to 31 March 2010.

These RDS services similarly will seek to support the strategy for R&D support set out in the specification. We expect the total value of each RDS contract to be between £800k and £1.03m annually for five years.

This is a significant opportunity to support the new health research system and advance patient and people focused research in England.

Call opens 28 January 2009
Deadline for submission of full applications 4.00pm on 28 April 2009
Deadline for submission of declarations & signatures forms 4.00pm on 5 May 2009

Applicants will be required to present their proposal on the 17th June 2009 in central London. Please keep these dates free in your diary.
